Do not bring religious matters under the Tourism Department, Chardham Tirtha Purohit Mahapanchayat expressed objection

Uttarakhand Chardham Tirtha Purohit Mahapanchayat has objected to bringing religious matters under the Tourism Department. Apart from this, the Mahapanchayat will oppose limiting the number of pilgrims in the upcoming Chardham Yatra. On Friday, a meeting was held in a hotel in Dehradun under the chairmanship of Mahapanchayat President Suresh Semwal. In which other issues along with the upcoming Chardham Yatra were discussed. It was decided in the meeting that recently the state government merged the Religious Affairs Department with Tourism. The Mahapanchayat has objected to this and demanded that religious matters be kept separate from the Tourism Department. Apart from this, expressing displeasure over the irregularities of Kedarnath heli service providing companies, the Mahapanchayat has demanded the government to open a vigilance office near the heli companies. Demand was raised to start the work of security wall in Yamunotri Dham soon.
