District Magistrate Savin Bansal has taken another strict step in the case of arbitrarily digging roads in the name of development works. After registering an FIR against the contractors and personnel of Energy Corporation, Water Institute and GAIL, these agencies have now been banned for three months.
These agencies will not be allowed to cut roads for the next three months. After digging the roads, serious lapses of Water Institute on Canal Road, Energy Corporation on Mata Mandir Road and GAIL were exposed regarding filling and leveling of soil for the safety of the citizens. Citizens were facing a lot of trouble due to the uneven condition of the road at all three places.
DM imposed a three-month ban
Taking it seriously, an FIR was first registered on the instructions of the District Magistrate and now taking it a step further, a ban has been imposed for three months. Which simply means that the three agencies will not be given new permission for road cutting.
Other agencies will be able to learn a lesson
The strict action of the District Magistrate will also be a lesson for other agencies digging the road. Because, in the capital Doon, permission for road cutting is taken from time to time for various works and repair of lines etc. All the agencies show reluctance in leveling and repairing the road after cutting it. Now after the strict stand of the administration, the tendency of playing with the safety of the citizens will definitely be stopped somewhere.
