The government has become active in view of dealing with the challenges of disaster during the rainy season. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the State Emergency Operations Center located at IT Park on Sunday and took stock of the situation arising due to heavy rains in various areas of the state. In view of the monsoon, he directed the officials of the government and administration to remain on alert mode for 24 hours for the next two months. Also, during the monsoon period, the officials were asked to regularly stay at ground zero and keep the system tight.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned District Magistrates to make necessary arrangements for the safety of the Chardham pilgrims. He said that the devotees should be accommodated at safe places and full arrangements for food, medicine, milk for children and other basic necessities should be ensured there. He said that in view of the possibility of excessive rain and the safety of the devotees, the Chardham Yatra has been stopped for the next 24 hours.
