Now in the state, financial fraud cases by forging or manipulating documents can be resolved quickly. The cabinet has approved the proposal to establish a digital forensic laboratory under the state tax department. The establishment of the forensic laboratory will benefit the tax department as well as the CGST and Income Tax departments. At present, cases of economic crime are increasing in the state. Whether it is a case of tax evasion, fake form or stamp duty theft by manipulating documents in the registry. To investigate such crimes, the State Tax, CGST and Finance departments are currently dependent on the police department for their forensic investigation. The police already have other cases. Due to this, the investigation of these departments is slow, and at the same time many investigations are also pending. In view of this, the Finance Department placed a proposal related to the digital forensic laboratory under the State Tax Department before the cabinet. The cabinet has approved this proposal. With this, now the information and evidence related to the tax department can be collected in the laboratory of the state tax department itself. By bringing back the old data, it will be possible to analyze it.
