This is definitely BJP’s best performance in the municipal elections. The figures are confirming this. From the perspective of the year 2027, it was considered as the ‘semi-final of power’ and BJP won it. In BJP’s victory, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has shone as the biggest star, who effectively led the party’s campaign. Dhami’s influence is established by the results of the municipal elections. BJP’s victory in the municipal elections is being considered special in many ways. The figure of BJP’s victory in ten out of the total 11 municipal corporations for the post of mayor tells its own story. BJP has never seen this shining figure before. Apart from municipal corporations, elections were held for 89 posts of Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayats. Out of these, BJP presidents have won in more than 30 places. BJP’s dominance has also been maintained in the elections of councilors in the bodies. In fact, even though local issues dominate the elections of municipal bodies, the functioning of the government was also put to test. BJP is now in a position to say that this is the public’s approval on the work of the Dhami government.
Dhami’s triple engine slogan started
While campaigning for BJP in the municipal elections, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami made the same appeal to the voters everywhere. This appeal was to add a triple engine to development by making BJP win in the municipal bodies. He described the first engine as the Modi government at the Center and the second engine as the state government. He talked about electing the BJP board in the bodies as the third engine in every speech of his. Its effect was also seen. This slogan has played an important role in the victory of BJP.
Victory by the highest and lowest margin in corporations
Though the victory of BJP has been special in many places in the municipal elections due to different reasons, but the margin of victory of BJP in two municipal corporations has caught everyone’s attention. In the state’s largest and oldest Municipal Corporation Dehradun, BJP candidate Saurabh Thapliyal’s victory margin was more than 1,05000 votes, which is the highest. In contrast, in Pithoragarh Municipal Corporation, party candidate Kalpana Devlal won by just 17 votes. It can be said that BJP won a lost battle here.
