BJP made full use of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who came into the limelight across the country for taking historic decisions including Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-copying law in Uttarakhand, in the Delhi assembly elections. The Chief Minister once again lived up to the expectations of the party leadership. As a star campaigner in Delhi, the Chief Minister held 52 meetings and road shows in support of party candidates in 23 assembly constituencies. When the results came, the BJP managed to hoist the flag in 18 of these assembly seats. These also include the New Delhi assembly seat, where BJP’s Pravesh Verma defeated Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

After writing the victory story of BJP in the municipal elections in the state, Chief Minister Dhami was put on the front by the party leadership in the election campaign for Delhi Assembly. The Chief Minister also worked day and night in support of the party candidates by holding rapid meetings, road shows and public relations. In the election campaign, he underlined the concept of development on the basis of double engine and also put forward other decisions including implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand in front of the public. He remained continuously engaged in wooing the migrant Uttarakhandis.

Dhami lived up to the party’s expectations
These efforts of the Chief Minister bore fruit and BJP hoisted the flag on New Delhi, Kasturbanagar, Motinagar, Shalimar Bagh, RK Puram, Greater Kailash, Patparganj, Karawal Nagar, Rithala, Dwarka, Najafgarh, Matiala, Laxmi Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Palam, Wazirpur and Bawana seats. Chief Minister Dhami had campaigned vigorously on all these seats of Delhi Assembly. With this success, the Chief Minister has once again been successful in living up to the expectations of the party leadership. This threat of Chief Minister Dhami in Delhi has naturally increased his political stature. Earlier also, in the assembly elections of various states, the BJP leadership had fielded Chief Minister Dhami on the front and he proved himself in these too. Not only this, all the decisions of his government including Uniform Civil Code, anti-copying law, strict law to prevent forced conversion, anti-riot law, encroachment-free government land are also becoming an example for other states.
