Heavy destruction has been caused by cloudburst in Sahasradhara area of ​​​​Dehraduna late night. At the same time, heavy rain in Mussoorie brought debris on top of the laborers’ accommodation. One laborer died and one was seriously injured in the incident.

There is news of large-scale damage due to cloudburst in Sahasradhara area late on Monday night. According to local public representatives, two to three big hotels and many shops have been damaged due to debris in the main market. Gram Pradhan of Cardigad, Rakesh Jawadi told Amar Ujala that the incident happened at around 11:30 pm. After the cloud burst in Cardigad, a large amount of debris fell in the main market. Due to this, two to three big hotels were damaged while about 7 to 8 shops built in a market collapsed. He told that about 100 people were trapped there, who were rescued safely by the villagers and taken to safe places. He told that there was also information that one to two people are missing but it could not be confirmed, although they are being searched.

At the same time, information was received from the disaster control room at 2 o’clock in the night that SDRF and fire teams have been dispatched to the spot, but due to a lot of debris on the way, the team could not reach the spot. It was told that the JCB of the Public Works Department has reached the spot and started opening the way.

At the same time, the Tamsa river in Dehradun has become furious. Even the Shivling in Tapkeshwar temple has drowned. The temple premises have been evacuated. On the other hand, a large amount of debris also came near the IT Park. Due to this, the water level of the Song river increased significantly. The police have alerted the people living nearby. Also, people living on the river bank have been asked to go to a safe place. Raipur police station in-charge Girish Negi said that the incident happened between 12:30 and 1 o’clock at night when suddenly debris came near the IT Park. As soon as the information was received, a large number of police forces reached the spot immediately. After this, NDRF and SDRF were also called to the spot. At present the situation is under control. There is no news of any loss of life so far. Due to heavy rains late on Monday night in Jhadipani of Mussoorie, debris came on top of the workers’ residence. One laborer died in the incident and one was seriously injured. As soon as the information of the accident was received, the police and local people reached the spot and took the injured laborer to the hospital for treatment. City Kotwal Santosh Kunwar said that rain water and debris came on top of the workers’ kutcha residence. Due to this, a laborer died on the spot due to being buried and a laborer was injured. The injured has been sent to the hospital for treatment.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on social media X on the incident of cloudburst in Sahastradhara. He wrote that sad news has been received about damage to some shops due to heavy rains in Sahastradhara, Dehradun late at night. The district administration, SDRF, police have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations.
