Dehradun Airport of Uttarakhand is going to become international, preparations to fly to 5 countries including Singapore-Dubai

In future, passengers will also be able to avail the facility of international flights from Dehradun Airport. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has started preparations for this. In the first phase, air services will be started for Singapore, Dubai, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. This information was given by UCADA’s Additional Chief Executive Officer Dayanand Saraswati. Starting international services from Dehradun Airport located at Jolly Grant will promote tourism as well as industrial investment.

Exercise is going on to expand Dehradun Airport

UCADA’s Additional Chief Executive Officer Dayanand Saraswati said that efforts are going on to expand Dehradun Airport for the additional land required to meet the shortage of runway for big aircraft.

UCADA to have a meeting with aviation companies

He said that during the road show of the Global Investors Conference, investors from Dubai and Singapore had emphasized on air connectivity with Uttarakhand. Taking cognizance of this, the state government has started the process of starting air services to Singapore, Dubai, Colombo, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. For this, UKADA is to have a meeting with aviation companies on August 5. In this, along with international flights, brainstorming will be started on starting domestic flights to other cities of the country like Bhopal, Patna, Chennai etc. He said that starting international flights from Dehradun airport will also be convenient for industrialists, people working abroad and tourists. This will increase tourism and pilgrimage in Uttarakhand.
