The decision to open closed schools will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.

A decision will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday for the opening of schools which have been closed for the last seven months in Uttarakhand. In the first phase, only 10th and 12th classes can start from October 20. The opinion of teachers and parents from all districts about the opening of the school has reached the government through the District Magistrates.

In view of the Corona transition in the state, while there is a protest against the opening of schools by some parents, the officials of the education department want to start the classes of 10th and 12th. One important reason for this is that the examination fees of the students of Uttarakhand Board to be deposited by July every year have not been deposited till now and it is difficult to collect fees without opening the school. If fees are not deposited on time, then there can be problem in conducting board examination.

This is the state of schools:
There are 2334 government secondary schools, 399 state-aided schools, 84 other government schools and and private schools in the state. There are a total of more than 3791 secondary schools, which can open from this month.

There is no movement of closed schools, so there is no need to sanitize them. However, cleaning will be done when the school opens. Children must wear masks. The government’s guide line will be followed in this regard.
-RK Kunwar, Director of Education

Parents will not send children even if schools are opened. The decision to open a school should not be made until the vaccine arrives or the school operator and the government take responsibility for the safety of children.
– Arif Khan, National President National Association for Parents and Student’s Rights

Departmental sources say that the government has received reports from the districts. In which about 60 percent of the parents are in favor of opening school for students from 9th to 12th.
