The area of the evacuated village will be included in the scope of Corbett Tiger Reserve.



Ramnagar, JNN: The exercise to expand the scope of Corbett Tiger Reserve has begun. The area of ​​the tiger reserve of 1288 square kilometers will increase to 1293 now. Permission has been given by NTCA (National Tiger Conservation Authority) Delhi to include the area of ​​four previously vacant villages in the buffer zone of the Tiger Reserve. The area of ​​Corbett Tiger Reserve is currently 1288 square kilometers. Under Corbett, Dhara, Jhirna, Kothiro village were displaced in 1994 and Laldhang village in 1997. The area of ​​5.14 square kilometers of the vacant village since then was not included in the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
It was practiced at the state government level for a long time. Now, the area of ​​5.14 square kilometers of these villages which have been vacated by the state government has been declared as reserved forest. Simultaneously, the Corbett administration has received permission from the NTCA to include the area of ​​these villages in the buffer zone. Corbett director Rahul said that the state government is yet to be duly awaited for its notification. The area of ​​Corbett Tiger Reserve will be increased as soon as the notification is received.
