In view of the three-tier Panchayat elections in the remaining 12 districts of the state except Haridwar, the State Election Commission has also started preparations amidst the ongoing process of reservation determination in the Panchayats. In this series, on Friday, Deputy District Election Officers of six districts of Garhwal Division and other officials were given training on various topics related to elections in Dehradun. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that in view of the preparations for the elections, various modules have been prescribed, in relation to which the officials are being trained. In the next series, the training of officials of all the six districts of Kumaon Division will be held in Haldwani on June 16. In the training program organized in the auditorium of the State Election Commission headquarters located on Ring Road, training was given on topics such as appointment of polling and counting personnel through software developed by NIC, online display of election results, voter list software, ballot paper and ballot box management, voter list management and election forms, polling kit, route chart, tent barricading, provisions of Panchayat Election Act, polling, counting, election expenditure limit, training of personnel and other topics. On this occasion, conduct and management of the election process was also discussed. Except Haridwar, Deputy District Election Officers, Assistant District Election Officers and the officers in charge appointed for Panchayat elections of the remaining six districts of Garhwal Division participated in the training.
