Cm TSR met Union Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday.

Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat met Union Minister for Textiles, Women and Child Development Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday.

The Union Minister, while setting up a Craft Tourism Village in Uttarakhand, asked to connect it with the homestay. The Chief Minister and the Union Minister held a special discussion on the art of Uttarakhand. Union Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani said that on the lines of Madhubani art, the focus should be on Aippan art. Linking it with textiles, special attention should be given to exports.


Forest staff artisan fairs should be organized in the state. In this, training of local artisans and giving them modern information should be given. Local organic products of the state need to be encouraged. Handloom fairs should be organized in every district from 1st to 7th August. These should be linked to local products. It should also be linked to e-commerce. Similarly, textile fairs should also be organized from August 1 to 15, which will benefit the local artisans. One local product should be identified and promoted in every district. The Union Minister said that she herself would come to the textile fair.

Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat informed the Union Minister about Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana. He told about various schemes related to women and child development being run in the state. The Union Minister said that One Stop Center is an important scheme. Its benefit should be given to every needy. He said that the proposals of the state government related to the Nirbhaya scheme would be approved.

Chief Secretary Shri Om Prakash, Secretary Shri Amit Negi, Smt. Radhika Jha, Shri Shailesh Bagoli were present on this occasion.
