CM Tirath Singh Rawat gives big relief to 471 outsourced personnel.

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has given great relief to 95 junior engineers and 376 data entry operators deployed in the Panchayati Raj Department for outsourcing. Their deployment period will be extended by one year. The proposal regarding the employment of the said personnel will be put up in the next cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister directed the officers to solve the problems of the three-tier panchayat representatives at the district and state level.

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat reviewed the Panchayati Raj department through video conferencing from his residence on Thursday. He directed to speed up the work being done through the department. Instructions were also given to add water life missions in the works of the department. He said that the works sanctioned under the said mission and the action plan should be added under the Tide Fund of the 15th Finance Commission.
The Chief Minister said that proposals related to the need for reconstruction of Panchayat buildings should be sent to the government with priority. There are 7791-gram panchayats in the state. Of these, Panchayat buildings are built in 6610-gram panchayats. 1181 Panchayats are devoid of buildings. The buildings of 1157 panchayats are dilapidated. Thus, there is a need to construct Panchayat buildings in a total of 2338 Gram Panchayats. The Union Ministry of Panchayat Raj gave funds at the rate of 20 lakhs per panchayat for the construction of 100 Gram Panchayats in 2019-20 under the National Village Swaraj Abhiyan.
Additional rooms have been sanctioned for repairing the building at the rate of four lakhs per panchayat in 150-gram panchayats and the common service center operation at the rate of four lakhs per building in 150-gram panchayats. In the financial year 2020-21, the Central Government has made financial provisions for the construction of Panchayat buildings in the Central Finance Commission, State Finance Commission, and MNREGA. In view of the low population and anomalous area of the Panchayats in the state, the funds received from the center are insufficient. Therefore, in the budget of the financial year 2021-22, the state government has made a provision of 20 crores for the panchayat building.
The Chief Minister emphasized making development schemes and activities in three-tier panchayats as beneficiaries. He instructed for the re-election in 12 districts of the state for the election of the District Planning Committee and the vacancies in the election of three-tier panchayats. Also said that there should be three-tier panchayat elections in Haridwar district on time. Panchayati Raj Secretary and Director Harichandra Semwal informed about the progress of departmental schemes. Panchayati Raj Minister Arvind Pandey, Finance Secretary Amit Negi, and Saujanya were also present in the meeting.
