Along with the possibilities of investment in Uttarakhand, entrepreneurs were made aware of the efforts made by the state government.

Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat invited entrepreneurs for investment in Uttarakhand by participating in the eighth Invest North Program held in Bangalore. He said that there is a lot of investment potential in Uttarakhand especially in tourism, bio-technology, renewable energy, film shooting and information technology. The Government of Uttarakhand is ready to provide necessary facilities to the investors. In the last two rains, concerted efforts have been made to invest in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the State of Uttarakhand has rapidly developed into a main destination for investment. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the country. The state government has made various commercial reforms proposed by DPIIT and World Bank. Uttarakhand is at the forefront of trade reforms undertaken by the hill states. To strengthen logistic infrastructure and facilitate trade, several basic infrastructural projects have been initiated. ICD and LCS have been established to promote exports in the state. Capacity expansion of All Weather Road and Jolly Grant Airport is in progress. The Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor proposed by the Central Government will facilitate industries located in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for logistics.
The Chief Minister said that in order to strengthen industrial development in Uttarakhand, integrated industrial estates / areas have been constructed which are equipped with world class infrastructure facilities. Strong law and order, low industrial power rates compared to other states of India, availability of quality human resources, amicable labor relations and loss of minimum working days are some of the main factors which help to create favorable environment for investment in Uttarakhand. The first Investors Summit “Destination Uttarakhand” was organized in Uttarakhand in October 2018, in which more than 4000 delegates, investors, industrialists from around the country and abroad participated. During the summit, with over 600 investors, Rs. MoUs were signed for proposals worth more than Rs 1,24,000 crore (one lakh chabis thousand crore). Concrete initiatives have been taken for the implementation of these MoUs. In the 10 months after Investors Summit, about Rs. The Chief Minister said that there are immense possibilities of industrialization in the state of Uttarakhand. The state government has identified sectors such as automobile, AYUSH and wellness, bio-technology, information technology, tourism, renewable energy, etc. and attractive incentives are being provided by implementing specific policies to encourage investment in these areas.
The focus of the state is also on such projects, which can strengthen their economy by providing employment opportunities to the residents of the hill areas of the state. Energy production from pine needles is one of these, which will provide employment opportunities to the citizens living in the mountainous areas. The state government has so far selected developers to set up 20 projects, which will be able to generate around 675 kilowatts of power and plans to increase the capacity of the project to 5 MW in the coming time.
Explaining the possibilities of investment in the tourism sector in the state, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is one of the major tourist destinations in India. To promote tourism in the state, a new tourism policy-2018 has been implemented, the main objective of which is to facilitate reverse migration, encourage rural tourism and promote eco-tourism, wellness and adventure tourism. A new theme based destination is being developed in every district of the state. There are wide possibilities of constructing tourist ropeways in the state, out of which some of the identified projects are Dehradun-Mussoorie, Janki Chatti-Yamunotri, Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib, Bhairav ​​Garhi, Dev’s Danda, Binsar are prominent. Recently the foundation stone for the ropeway project connecting Dehradun to Mussoorie has been reduced, which will reduce the travel time by road from one hour to thirty minutes to only 15-20 minutes. This project is one of the 5 longest rope-way projects in the world, with a cost of Rs. An expenditure of 285 crores is estimated. The state government has accorded industry status to link tourism with the economy of the state.
The Chief Minister said that there is also a huge potential for renewable energy generation in Uttarakhand. Several tenders have been invited for alternative energy generation. Entrepreneurs / developers have been selected for about 148 MW solar power generation projects in the mountainous region, with a total investment of about Rs. 600 crore is possible. In addition, tenders have been invited for 52 MW projects.
