Six people died in the stampede on the Mansa Devi temple road in Haridwar. CM Dhami also expressed grief over the accident. He has given instructions for a magisterial inquiry into the accident. Also, the state government will provide assistance of two lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased and 50 thousand rupees each to the injured.
Stampede caused by rumor of electric current spreading
SSP Pramod Singh Dobal said that a total of 35 devotees injured in the accident have been brought to the district hospital, in which six devotees have died in the stampede while others are injured. Of which the patients in critical condition are being referred to higher centers. In the stampede incident, seven ambulances of 108 service and two ambulances of ‘Khushiyon Ki Sawari’ were deployed on the spot to provide immediate first aid to the injured and to take them safely to the hospital. Through these ambulance services, many injured were taken to the hospital on time and provided necessary medical assistance.
