CM Dhami sets deadline for PWD: All roads in Uttarakhand to be pothole-free by October 31

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure that all roads in the state are free of potholes by October 31. He stated that this should be treated as a campaign and progress should be reviewed on a weekly basis. This year, Uttarakhand experienced widespread natural disasters during the monsoon season. These disasters caused extensive damage to roads in almost every district, resulting in significant disruptions to vehicular traffic. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Dhami held a high-level meeting at his official residence to discuss this matter. He stated that the monsoon season in the state has now ended, and all departments should expedite the implementation of necessary works. He directed the PWD to prioritize the reconstruction and repair of damaged roads and ensure that all roads are free of potholes by the stipulated deadline. He emphasized that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated. He also instructed that special monitoring should be maintained in areas where there are frequent complaints about road conditions, and that particular attention should be paid to the quality of the work. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Dr. Pankaj Pandey, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman, Special Secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate, and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari.
