Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had set a deadline of October 31st to repair roads damaged after the disaster. However, now CM Dhami has directed Public Works Department officials to repair roads in densely populated urban areas by Diwali. This will ensure that local residents do not face any problems during Diwali. Public Works Department officials have prioritized making roads in urban areas pothole-free. Over 350 roads in Uttarakhand have been selected for pothole-free repair during the monsoon season. This includes roads in both urban and rural areas. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed a special campaign to ensure pothole-free roads. The PWD has begun work in compliance with these instructions. Road repairs and pothole filling are underway in various cities. The Chief Minister also stated that negligence in road construction and repair work will not be tolerated. Reconstruction and repair of damaged roads should be completed on a priority basis. Furthermore, special monitoring should be conducted in areas that frequently receive road-related complaints. Special attention should be paid to the quality of work. This initiative will not only improve the condition of roads in urban areas but will also provide better transportation facilities to citizens. Meanwhile, the Public Works Department requires ₹6,300 crore for road repairs, of which ₹3,170 crore has been received so far.
