Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the nation to adopt indigenous products, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been visiting markets for the past four days to promote this initiative. He is also interacting with shopkeepers and customers regarding the GST rate reductions implemented from the first day of Navratri. On Thursday, Chief Minister Dhami visited the Sahastradhara Crossing market in Dehradun. During his visit, he met with shopkeepers and local residents, emphasizing the importance of promoting the use of indigenous products and the state’s role in achieving self-reliance. The Chief Minister said that adopting indigenous products not only strengthens our traditions and local industries but also creates new employment opportunities for the youth. He also appealed to the shopkeepers to pay special attention to cleanliness, customer service, and overall market management. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi and MLA Umesh Sharma Kau were also present.
Tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya
On the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to his statue at Deendayal Park in Dehradun on Thursday morning. The Chief Minister said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya dedicated his life to the upliftment of the marginalized, poor, and underprivileged sections of society. He added that his teachings and ideals continue to inspire us even today. BJP National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santosh, Rajya Sabha member and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, and MLA Khajan Das were also present on this occasion.
