CM Dhami inaugurated the radio mobile app, said- ‘Uttarakhand Open University center will be established in Dehradun’

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday inaugurated the Hello Haldwani 91.2 FM community radio mobile app from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. He said, Uttarakhand Open University is doing remarkable work towards taking education to remote areas and promoting innovation with modern technology. Said, the state government will establish a major center of Uttarakhand Open University in Dehradun. This center will become a major center of research, innovation and digital education. The Chief Minister said that education is not only a means of obtaining a degree, but is the basis of giving direction to life and self-reliance. Under this thinking, Higher Education and Skill Development Centers are being established in all 13 districts of the state, so that the youth will not only get education but will also be able to learn employment skills. The Chief Minister said that when the university and skill development center work together, the youth of Uttarakhand will become job givers rather than job seekers. This effort will ensure the important role of the state in realizing the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self-reliant India. Uttarakhand Open University Vice Chancellor Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani apprised about the various activities of the university and presented a cheque of Rs. 1.49 lakh to the Chief Minister on behalf of the university in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for disaster relief. Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Director General UCAST Prof. Durgesh Pant, Registrar Uttarakhand Open University Khemraj Bhatt and other university officials were present on this occasion.
