Chief Minister Dhami took information from Kumaon Commissioner Sushil Kumar about the damage caused by heavy rains in village Jumma of Dharchula Tehsil Pithoragarh through virtual medium.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took information through virtual medium from Kumaon Commissioner Shri Sushil Kumar and Additional District Magistrate Pithoragarh Shri Fincharam about the damage caused by heavy rains in village Jumma of Dharchula Tehsil of Pithoragarh district. The Chief Minister took information about the relief and rescue operations over phone from District Magistrate Shri Ashish Chouhan, who was present in the affected area.



The Chief Minister directed Kumaon Commissioner and District Magistrate Pithoragarh to immediately bring people from the affected area to safer places. Adequate arrangements should be made for food items, medicines and milk to the children along with staying for the affected. It should be ensured that no one gets trapped in the affected area.

The Chief Minister directed the Kumaon Commissioner to work on a war footing to start the traffic system in the affected area at the earliest. The debris of the road should be removed soon by the team of Public Works Department. Adequate arrangements should be made for JCB and other means to open all the routes of NH which are getting obstructed.

The Chief Minister inquired about the damage caused by rain from Kumaon Commissioner and District Magistrate Pithoragarh. According to the information received, 03 people have died and 04 people are missing. Administration and SSB teams are engaged in relief and rescue work at the site of the incident. District Magistrate Pithoragarh Shri Ashish Chauhan is in the affected area. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is constantly taking updates from the District Magistrate by phone. The Chief Minister will visit the affected area as soon as the weather clears.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi, MLA Smt. Chandra Pant, Shri Khajan Das, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Disaster Management Smt. Riddhim Agarwal, Additional Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Anand Shrivastava, ADM Shri Fincharam Chauhan were present from Pithoragarh through virtual medium.
