As soon as the National Games started, the players of the state kept leading in the medal table, especially in Wushu, compared to other sports. Uttarakhand’s daughter Jyoti Verma won the bronze medal and gave the first medal to the state. After this, the enthusiasm of the players doubled when Achom Tapas won the gold medal. Ilabam Itali Chanu, Fabrice Devi and Harshit Sharma won silver medals and brought the state to the top 11 in the national medal tally.
The state got one gold, three silver and eight bronze medals in the competition. Whereas, earlier in the National Games held in Goa in 2023, Uttarakhand had to be content with just one bronze medal in Wushu. Harshit Sharma won this medal, who has won the silver medal for the state this time.
