Chief Minister Dhami launched the Swachh Utsav in Uttarakhand, picking up a broom and cleaning the roads.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Swachh Utsav-2025 program on Wednesday. On this occasion, he extended warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prayed for his healthy and long life. The Chief Minister also extended greetings to the people of the state on Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti. As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Chief Minister gave the message of cleanliness by sweeping and appealed to all citizens to join the cleanliness drive. He announced that regular programs related to service and cleanliness will be held across the state from September 17th to October 2nd. On this occasion, he also paid tribute to the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. During the program, he administered the cleanliness pledge and planted a tree. The Chief Minister flagged off the Swachh Bharat Rath and honored environmental friends. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the cleanliness movement has given the country new dimensions. Swachh Utsav-2025 is a resolution, a movement, and a promise of a healthy and clean future for future generations. He said that it is everyone’s responsibility to realize the dream of a “Clean India, Healthy India.”
The Chief Minister stated that the Dehradun Municipal Corporation ranked 19th in the country in the recent Clean Air Survey announced under the National Air Program. The Dehradun Municipal Corporation also ranked 62nd in the cleanliness rankings this year, an improvement over previous years. So far, toilets have been constructed for over six lakh families without toilets in the state. The Dehradun Municipal Corporation has established a sanitation control room to promptly address sanitation-related problems. Garbage collection, CCTV surveillance, and regular cleaning are leading the city towards better governance. The Chief Minister emphasized that cleanliness is not just a government campaign, but a part of our culture and lifestyle. He called upon all citizens to consider it their responsibility to keep their homes, neighborhoods, villages, and cities clean. Emphasizing environmental protection, the Chief Minister mentioned the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and said that tree plantation is a means to improve the quality of life and ensure a clean environment for future generations.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Ganesh Joshi, Subodh Uniyal, MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Mayor Dehradun Saurabh Thapliyal, MLA Savita Kapoor, Suresh Gadiya, Secretary Nitesh Jha, Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal and other public representatives and officials were present.
