Heli ambulance service is going to start from 29th October on the lines of 108 ambulance in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the program virtually and inaugurate this historic service. With this, AIIMS will achieve the distinction of being the first institute to start heli ambulance in the country.
Executive Director of AIIMS Rishikesh Prof. Meenu Singh said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and many MPs and MLAs will be present in the inauguration program at AIIMS. Told that heli ambulance service will be operated under Sanjeevani Yojana. This service will be completely free. Its benefits will be available across the state. Said that trials of heli ambulance have been done in several phases, which were completely successful.
This is how the real needy will be identified
Executive Director of AIIMS Rishikesh Prof. Meenu Singh said that a special structure has been prepared to identify the actual needy so that the heli ambulance service is not misused. She said that in case of an accident in any area, the injured is taken to the nearest government hospital. If the doctor finds the condition of the injured to be dangerous and feels the need for necessary treatment within a few hours, then on their recommendation, the benefit of heli ambulance can be availed with the help of the local administration. She said that the patient whose condition is most dangerous will be given priority in the heli ambulance.
This will be the scope of benefit
Prof. Meenu Singh said that the benefit of heli ambulance service can be availed in the whole of Uttarakhand. She said that the benefit of heli ambulance service will also be availed in some parts of Uttar Pradesh bordering Uttarakhand.
Heli ambulance will also be helpful in disaster
Acting Director of AIIMS Rishikesh, Prof. Meenu Singh said that the District Disaster Management Offices in all the 13 districts of Uttarakhand will be connected to the control room of AIIMS heli ambulance service. If there is a major disaster or road accident in the state, in which someone is really in need, then he will be able to get the benefit of heli ambulance service on the recommendation of the District Disaster Management Office.
This is Sanjeevani Yojana
Prof. Meenu Singh said that the central and state governments are jointly operating the Sanjeevani Yojana. The center and the state will bear 50-50 percent of the expenses. Told that under the scheme, it is mandatory to benefit at least 30 needy people every month in the heli ambulance. AIIMS will try to benefit as many needy as possible. Said that in future this service can also be linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The heli ambulance will be hi-tech
All the necessary life saving equipment including ventilator will be available in the heli ambulance. Necessary medical staff including a doctor will be deployed in it. Only one patient can be taken in the ambulance at a time.
