President Draupadi Murmu will visit the Naina Devi Temple on Tuesday, followed by the Kainchi Dham, established by Baba Neeb Karori. In view of the President’s visit to the Naina Devi Temple, the police have made elaborate security arrangements since morning. Even pedestrians are being monitored. A heavy police force is deployed around the temple.
Program begins at the Naina Devi Temple
President Murmu’s programs on the second day of her Nainital visit will begin with a visit to the Mother Naina Devi Temple. She will arrive at the Mother Naina Devi Temple at 8:50 am. The President will then participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the main gate of Raj Bhavan, Nainital, and then proceed to Neem Karori Baba Ashram, Kainchi Dham. After visiting Neeb Karori Baba Ashram from 10:05 to 10:35 am, she will return to Nainital. She will arrive at Kumaun University, Nainital at 11:15 am and participate in the university’s convocation from 11:25 am to 12:15 pm. She will depart from Kumaun University, Nainital at 12:15 pm and arrive at Raj Bhavan, Nainital at 12:25 pm. She will depart from Raj Bhavan, Nainital at 2:30 pm.
Meritorious students to be honored, over 16,000 degrees awarded
At the 20th convocation of Kumaun University, Nainital, 18 out of 89 meritorious students will be awarded medals, over 16,000 degrees, and 233 students will be awarded PhD degrees. For the first time in the university’s history, the President is attending the convocation ceremony, which has generated enthusiasm among students, faculty, and staff. According to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dewan S. Rawat, after the President departs, Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat will also present medals to the meritorious students.
