At a meeting of the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred financial assistance of 11.5 crore rupees to over 10,000 registered workers and their dependents through an online portal and DBT. The Chief Minister stated that this is not just a sum of money, but a symbol of the government’s respect and gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the workers. The Chief Minister directed officials to prioritize the enrolment of all MNREGA workers in the state on the Welfare Board. He clarified that the target has been set to register five to six lakh workers in the next three months. He said that schemes for workers will be meaningful only if maximum eligible people benefit from them. Therefore, officials were instructed to disseminate information about the schemes at the Panchayat level and accelerate the registration drive. The Chief Minister emphasized that workers should receive benefits from schemes such as education, health, marriage assistance, and post-death assistance in a timely and transparent manner. He also said that workers should be aware of their rights and apply for schemes after obtaining information about them.

He stated that the welfare of workers is the government’s top priority and that it is everyone’s responsibility to bring about change in their lives. Secretary Sridhar Babu Adanki, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, and senior officials from the Labor Department were present at the meeting.

Transparency and strict monitoring in the Mining Department’s policy

At the meeting, the Chief Minister praised the performance of the Mining Department. He stated that transparency and strict monitoring of the mining policy have led to a historic increase in the state’s mining revenue. This model has now become an inspiration for other states such as Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister directed other departments to adopt a transparent and result-oriented work culture similar to the Mining Department.
