Education Minister Speaks at Chintan Shivir – 10,000 Higher Education Students Should Get Campus Placement Every Year

10,000 students from the state’s state universities should receive campus placements every year. This was stated by Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. He spoke as the chief guest at the two-day Chintan Shivir, Shiksha Samvad, held on Rajpur Road. The Education Minister stated that universities will conduct campus interviews for students studying at their campuses and affiliated colleges in their final year and provide them with a monthly package of Rs. 1 lakh. This will enable 10,000 students pursuing higher education in the state to become millionaires through placements. Over 500 secondary schools in the state, under the School Education Department, offer vocational courses and provide employment opportunities to thousands of students annually through campus placements. Similarly, in higher education, employment opportunities will be provided to students through various companies. To achieve this, every university and affiliated college will be required to organize campus placements so that students studying in various disciplines can obtain employment in various fields as per their qualifications in the final year of their course. For this, it will be mandatory for the university and affiliated colleges to set up a placement cell on their campus. He asked the universities and educational institutions of the state to pay special attention to national level ranking and NAAC grading. On the first day of the Chintan Shivir, educationists and subject experts expressed their views on quality higher education, new dimensions, NEP-2020 and skill based education, teaching methodology and expectations of students, infrastructural and digital gap and quality enhancement of teachers under the subject.
