Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, helicopter services between Pithoragarh and Munsiari, and Haldwani and Almora, have been inaugurated. These services will operate seven days a week, with two flights per day. The fare per seat is ₹2500. Bookings can be made on the website of the operating company, Heritage Aviation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while launching these services, said that these air services will facilitate travel for the general public to remote areas of the state. Launching the helicopter services virtually from his official residence on Wednesday, Chief Minister Dhami said that Almora and Munsiari are ancient and historically and culturally significant towns of Uttarakhand. These towns attract tourists from across the country and the world due to their natural beauty, historical temples, and rich culture. With the launch of the helicopter service, tourists will now be able to reach Almora and Munsiari even more easily. Travel time will be reduced from hours to just a few minutes. This will also boost tourism and economic development. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a visionary scheme like the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. This scheme has made a significant contribution to strengthening air connectivity in the state. Under this scheme, work is underway to operate helicopter services from 18 helipads in the state, of which services have already been started from 12 helipads. He said that so far, areas like Gaichhar, Joshiyara, Haldwani, Munsiari, Mussoorie, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Almora have been connected through helicopter services.
