The Shaheed Samman Yatra-2.0 will be held in the state from September 25 to October 4. In a meeting held on Wednesday, chaired by Additional District Magistrate (Finance) KK Mishra, officials from the Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, Health Department, Police, Transport, and the Soldiers’ Welfare Department were instructed to ensure proper arrangements for the yatra. It was stated that the Shaheed Samman Yatra will be held in two phases. Today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the yatra from the residence of martyr Naik Naresh Kumar in Gujraada Mansingh on Sahastradhara Road. On this occasion, the Minister of Soldiers’ Welfare, the MLA of Raipur, retired army officers, other elected representatives, social workers, and general public will be present. The yatra will begin from the martyr’s residence and conclude at the Chidbagh memorial. During this, sacred soil will be collected from the courtyard of the martyr’s house and placed in a pot. On October 4, a district-level program will be held at the Chidbagh memorial. During this program, the chariot carrying the pot of sacred soil collected from the courtyards of the martyrs’ homes will be flagged off for Lansdowne with due honor, in the presence of the families of the martyrs. The Additional District Magistrate stated that adequate arrangements for security, traffic management, and health services will be made during the yatra. All concerned departments will ensure that there are no disruptions to public services during the yatra.
