In view of the situation arising from heavy rains in Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over the phone and received detailed information. Assuring the state of all possible assistance, they stated that the central government stands firmly with Uttarakhand in this hour of crisis. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and Home Minister, stating that with their guidance and support, relief work in the state will be carried out even faster. The Chief Minister stated that the administration is working diligently in the affected areas, and rescue and relief operations are continuing on a war footing.
CM Dhami conducted a field inspection
Chief Minister Dhami personally inspected the areas affected by heavy rains in Dehradun district. He directed officials to ensure that no affected families face any difficulties and that they are immediately provided with relief material, safe shelter, food, water, and healthcare. Chief Minister Dhami said, “The state government stands with every affected family. The administration is already on alert, and the NDRF, SDRF, police, and local administration are constantly active.”
10 people killed in massive devastation
A cloudburst occurred late Monday night in the famous Sahastradhara area of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, following heavy rains. Several shops were washed away. Ten people died and eight are missing. However, the district administration has evacuated local residents to safety. The heavy rains have caused significant damage in the Sahastradhara and Maldevta areas, with rivers overflowing and roads and bridges washed away. Rescue operations are currently underway.
