Women voted in large numbers in the first phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections. Now the State Election Commission has started preparing for the second phase of voting. Its election campaign noise will stop at 5 pm on Saturday. In the first phase of Panchayat elections held in 49 development blocks on Thursday, 68 percent voting took place. The special thing is that among those who voted, 63 percent were male voters and 73 percent were female voters. Seeing the enthusiasm of women to elect the village government, the officials of the State Election Commission are also excited. It is believed that the voting percentage will go even higher in the second phase of elections. The second phase of voting will be held in 40 development blocks on July 28 between 8 am and 5 pm. The Election Commission has started preparing for this. The work of sending polling parties will start from Saturday. The election campaign noise will also stop at 5 pm on Saturday. After this, the candidates will be able to campaign door-to-door. Election Commission Secretary Rahul Kumar Goyal said that 14,751 candidates are in the fray in the second phase. These include 1988 Gram Panchayat member candidates, 7833 Pradhan candidates, 4214 Kshetra Panchayat member candidates and 871 District Panchayat member candidates.

The second phase of polling will be held in these development blocks of 10 districts

Salt, Syalde, Bhikiyasain, Hawalbagh and Dwarahat in Almora, Rudrapur, Kashipur and Jaspur in Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat and Barakot in Champawat, Vin, Moonakot, Berinag and Gangolihat in Pithoragarh, Haldwani, Ramnagar, Bhimtal and Kotabagh in Nainital, Dunda, Chinyalisaur and Bhatwadi in Uttarkashi, Pokhri, Dasholi, Nandanagar, Karnaprayag and Gairsain in Chamoli, Kirtinagar, Devprayag, Narendranagar and Chamba in Tehri, Doiwala, Raipur and Sahaspur in Dehradun, Yamkeshwar, Jayharikhal, Dugadda, Dwarikhal, Pauri, Kot and Kaljikhal in Pauri. In the first phase, polling has been completed in all the development blocks of two districts Bageshwar and Rudraprayag. Therefore, the second phase of voting will be held in 10 districts instead of 12.
