After the resignation of cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal, the political atmosphere in Uttarakhand has heated up. After the resignation of the minister, Prem Chand’s supporters gathered at the minister’s residence in Yamuna Colony in Dehradun on Sunday evening and demanded the government to reject the resignation. The supporters created a ruckus for a long time and announced to block the roads and close the market in Doon. However, no organization, party or any public representative took any responsibility for this. Shops were also kept closed in many areas on Monday morning. After which the former minister appealed to the people and said that your feelings are respected but all this keeps happening in politics. Even after the talks held at night, on Prem Chand’s request, his supporters withdrew the decision to block the roads and close the market.
During this time, police remained deployed outside Prem Chand’s Awaaz till late night. On the other hand, a wave of emotions also rose on the internet media. A large number of reactions are being given in favor and against Prem Chand. Some mischievous elements also circulated provocative messages on the internet media. However, the police have clearly stated that strict action will be taken against those who disturb the peaceful environment. Late Sunday evening, Premchand Agarwal’s supporters gathered at the minister’s residence in Yamuna Colony and accused the government of pressuring Premchand to resign. They also termed it as injustice to people of the plains. However, there has been no response from Premchand Agarwal in this matter after he resigned. The supporters themselves announced to block the roads and close the market in Doon. Premchand’s supporters have called for gathering at Ghantaghar on Monday at 11 am in support of the bandh.
