To empower women in Uttarakhand, the government’s ambitious Mahila Sarathi Yojana will be launched on March 8 on International Women’s Day. For public awareness, in the first week of this scheme, women will be given free ride in the vehicles running under this scheme. Women Empowerment Minister Rekha Arya will be the first passenger of Mahila Sarathi. This scheme is being started with 10 e-scooties, two auto rickshaws and two e-taxi cars.
Driving licenses are being made
Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya said that economically weak, widowed or abandoned women are being given priority in this scheme. Their driving licenses are also being made. This scheme will be started from the camp office of the Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister. She herself will reach IRDT Hall Survey Chowk in these vehicles. After this, detailed information regarding these schemes will be given in the IRDT auditorium. The cabinet minister said that the vehicles for the pilot project have been arranged from the CSR fund of an organization. If the pilot project shows good results for the first six months, it will be implemented in other districts as well.
These women will be given priority
In the Sarathi project, such women will be given priority who are financially weak, widows and deserted. It is proposed to arrange vehicles for women from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund and Nirbhaya Yojana Fund. In this, the beneficiary woman will not have to spend money.
