The Pushkar Singh Dhami government will continue to move forward on the basis of the four major pillars of poor, youth, annadaata (farmer) and women i.e. knowledge (JYAN) as well as the mantra given by Namo i.e. Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the state to give shape to the resolution of a strong and developed Uttarakhand. On Thursday, the third day of the assembly session, Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal presented a budget of Rs 1,01,175.33 crore for the financial year 2025-26 in the House. For the first time, the state budget has crossed the amount of one lakh crore.
Giving priority to the welfare of these four sections in the budget, an amount of Rs 5077 crore has been kept. However, a gender budget of Rs 16961.22 crore has been arranged for women. This amount becomes even bigger when this is included. Urban and rural development is the priority of the government.
Rs 855.95 crore for expansion of infrastructure facilities
Rs 855.95 crore has been given in the budget for expansion of infrastructure facilities in cities. Rs 2856 crore has been taken out from the budget for rural development. Infrastructure development has been given top priority. More than 14 thousand crores will be spent on this. An arrangement of Rs 16202 crore has been made to increase the quality of health and education in Uttarakhand. The state government has taken a big initiative in the form of Uniform Civil Code. Rs 30 crore has been kept in the budget to implement it. Also, Rs 20 crore has been given for the expenditure on implementation of the Indian Judicial Code implemented by the Center. Special emphasis is being laid on curbing the trend of drug addiction in the state. In this regard, a provision of Rs 10 lakh has been made to the police department to strengthen the intelligence system.
