Monsoons become active once again, heavy rain warning in Kumaon division including Dehradun

Monsoon rains continue in the state. On Monday, Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and some areas of Bageshwar received one or two rounds of torrential rain. In Dehradun, from 3:30 pm onwards, Banjarawala, Kargi Chowk, Patel Nagar, ISBT, Saharanpur Chowk, Prince Chowk, Ghantaghar, Chakrata Road, Sahasradhara, Jakhan etc. areas received heavy rain. On Monday, 31.3 mm rainfall was recorded in Asharodi of Dehradun and 30.1 mm rainfall was recorded in Jhajra.

Dehradun’s minimum temperature was 24.6 degree Celsius

Dehradun’s maximum temperature was 31.8 degree Celsius, one degree Celsius above normal, and the minimum temperature was 24.6 degree Celsius. Tehri’s maximum temperature was recorded two degrees below normal, 24.1 degree Celsius, and the minimum temperature was 17.9 degree Celsius. Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that there could be heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in Dehradun and Kumaon division on Tuesday. In view of this, a yellow alert has been issued. Apart from this, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected at some places in Tehri and Chamoli, Rudraprayag. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in the hill districts due to the monsoon becoming active once again on September 13.
