A new traffic plan has been implemented from today outside 21 big schools located in the city’s cluster area EC Road, Rajpur Road, Nehru Colony areas. For which the opening and closing time of schools has also been changed.
The time of opening and closing of schools fixed by the police has given relief to children studying in lower classes. The schools in which children from class 6 to 12 study, the opening time of those schools is 7 am and the closing time is between 1 to 2 pm, whereas in the schools in which children study from nursery to fifth class, the school opening time is 7:40 am and the closing time is 12 to 1.30 pm.
Parents called the new plan impractical
Some parents have raised questions calling the new traffic plan of the police impractical. It was said that from Friday, the timings of schools which used to open at 8 am and 7:45 am to 1:30 pm are being changed to 7 am to 12:30 pm. Whereas it would have been appropriate that some schools would have opened at 8 am or 9 am and the closing time would have been 2 pm or 3:30 pm. New traffic plan implemented to deal with traffic jams in Dehradun, school timings changed from today; Police also tested
Along with this, the traffic police has also made preparations at its level. During this, the traffic jam and vehicle pressure outside the schools will be assessed at the time of opening and closing of these schools. Out of 21 schools, only St. Joseph’s Academy has asked for a day’s time in the opening and closing time of the school.
It was said that there are examinations in the school till 21st July. In such a situation, from 22nd July, they will also implement the time given for opening and closing of the school.
Traffic system deteriorating day by day
The closing time of all schools at the same time is also being considered a major reason for the deteriorating traffic system in the city day by day. In such a situation, to improve the situation, the police has changed the opening and closing time of big schools. To implement the new plan, under the supervision of SP City, the In-charge Inspector Dalanwala Kotwali, City Kotwal and Nehru Colony Police Station Head have been given a big responsibility. Traffic police will also be deployed in this area for a week, so that the plan can be implemented properly. The SSP will also go outside the schools and monitor himself.
