The monsoon rains continue in the state. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains at some places in Dehradun and Bageshwar on Friday. An orange alert has been issued for this. Light to moderate rains or thundershowers may occur at many places in Almora, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. One or two rounds of heavy rain are also likely at some places in Pauri and Chamoli. Keeping in mind the forecast of the Meteorological Department, a holiday has been declared in schools up to class 12 in Dehradun today i.e. Friday.
Heavy rain warning in Dehradun and Bageshwar: The rains continue across the state. In the last 12 hours, heavy rains are occurring at many places in Bageshwar of Kumaon and Dehradun, Rudraprayag and Chamoli of Garhwal division. In the last 12 hours, 124 mm rainfall was recorded in Mussoorie, 82.5 mm in Asharodi. 130 mm rainfall was recorded in Ukhimath of Rudraprayag and 101 mm in Govindghat during this period. Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Dehradun and Bageshwar districts in the next eight to 10 hours. In view of this, an orange alert has been issued here. One or two rounds of heavy rainfall may also occur at some places in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh. A yellow alert has been issued in these districts. This weather condition is likely to remain like this till Sunday.
