At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorms as well as lightning in the mountainous areas and heavy spells of rain at some places.

On Friday, clouds were hovering in most areas including Doon since morning, light to moderate rainfall continued at many places. Moderate to intense rainfall also continued at some places in the mountains. Heavy rainfall continues in many areas of Kumaon. The process of rain is likely to intensify further in the next five days. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of heavy showers with thunder and lightning in Dehradun, Nainital and surrounding areas today. Also, there may be heavy rainfall in some places in the mountainous regions.
