All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh is going to become the first center among all the AIIMS in the country from where heli ambulance service will operate. After the meeting with officials of the Civil Aviation Ministry, AIIMS Executive Director Professor Meenu Singh said that by November 15, heli ambulance will be available to AIIMS Rishikesh and operations will start this month. The heli ambulance service is to be operated in 50-50 percent partnership between the Center and the Uttarakhand government. The contracted company will provide free heli ambulance service to 45 injured and patients in a month. The heli ambulance will provide service within a 100 km radius of Uttar Pradesh along with entire Uttarakhand.

Another achievement is soon going to be added to the journey of AIIMS, which has successfully conducted the trial of providing medicines through drones in remote areas of Uttarakhand. The good news is that heli ambulance service from Rishikesh AIIMS will start this month. A helicopter will be provided to AIIMS Rishikesh by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
