Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami strict on corruption, orders vigilance inquiry against DGM of Transport Corporation

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has once again taken a tough stand on corruption. He ordered an open vigilance inquiry against Transport Corporation’s Deputy General Manager Finance Bhupendra Kumar on a serious complaint of misuse of position and involvement in corruption. He has also directed to prosecute four other persons in cases of disproportionate assets and corruption.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami once again made it clear that there will be no compromise with the zero tolerance policy on corruption. Dinesh Gosain, state president of State Corporation Employees Federation, Uttarakhand, had written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding a vigilance inquiry, making serious allegations of corruption against Bhupendra Kumar. In the letter, he alleged that the Deputy General Manager, in connivance with the contract vehicle owners, deposited the amount in the bank accounts of his family members.
The Chief Minister took seriously the financial irregularities and other complaints received against Transport Corporation’s Deputy General Manager Finance Bhupendra Kumar. He ordered an open vigilance inquiry into the matter. The Chief Minister gave permission to prosecute the culprits, retired Lekhpal Kushal Singh Rana and Rajendra Dabral, in the case of wrongful encroachment of land at Mauja Jakhan Kochhar Colony, West Officers Colony, Rajpur Road.
Similarly, in Haridwar district’s Tehsil Laksar, Lekhpal Mahipal Singh will now be prosecuted for demanding bribe in lieu of putting the correct report of the land. The Chief Minister has also ordered to prosecute senior storekeeper of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Rajneesh Kumar Pandey, in the matter of acquiring disproportionate assets.
The government will move forward on the goal of making Uttarakhand corruption free. Along with curbing bribery and malpractices, Vigilance Department has been directed to identify corrupt personnel and take strict action against them.
