A major project will be started in Uttarakhand in the name of the country’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said these things during the unveiling of the huge statue of late General Bipin Rawat.
On Friday, the statue and memorial of Padma Vibhushan General Bipin Rawat was inaugurated in the park located in Kanak Chowk. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with late Bipin Rawat’s daughters Kritika and Tarini unveiled the statue and paid tribute to him.
The Chief Minister said that in order to make the memory of General Bipin Rawat permanent, some big project will be started in his name in the state. This grand statue and memorial will serve as a reminder of General Bipin Rawat’s bravery, indomitable courage and bravery, as well as inspire the youth.
The statue and memorial site of CDS General Rawat has been constructed by the MDDA at a cost of about Rs 50 lakh. The Chief Minister said that the irreparable loss caused to the country by the sudden death of General Bipin Rawat could never be recovered. He said that Uttarakhand is a military-dominated state and the soldiers of Uttarakhand have made a special contribution in the glorious history of the Indian Army.
Military service is not just an employment opportunity for the youth of Uttarakhand, but it is also an excellent opportunity to dedicate life for the country and society. The Chief Minister said that the four decades of selfless service of late General Bipin Rawat to the motherland was replete with extraordinary valor and strategic acumen.
Till the last day of his life, he lived only for the country. Said that during the surgical strike, his guidance was very useful to the soldiers. His exemplary contribution and commitment cannot be described in words. Under his leadership, the Indian Army established new paradigms of bravery.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi and MLA Khajan Das also expressed their views on the occasion. Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, JOC Sanjeev Khatri, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari, Major General GS Rawat, Major General Anand Singh Rawat, General Bipin Rawat’s daughter Kritika and Tarini were also present in the programme.
Soldier Welfare Minister became emotional:
During the programme, Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi got emotional while addressing. He said that he had several meetings with General Bipin Rawat and sought his guidance. Due to his attachment towards Uttarakhand, he was always concerned for the youth of the state.
Remembering the things related to General Bipin Rawat, the Minister of Military Welfare got emotional and his tears started flowing. The cabinet minister said that he was not keeping well, but he mustered up the energy to unveil the statue of General Bipin Rawat. He said that April 14 also marks the wedding anniversary of General Bipin Rawat.
