
Under the special campaign run by Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, great relief has been given to the workers of the state and their dependents. Under the campaign, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred an amount of Rs 24.85 crore to 8299 beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to their bank accounts. This amount has been given to the workers and their dependents under various schemes like Daughter Marriage Assistance Scheme, Death Grant Scheme, Maternity Assistance Scheme and Education Assistance Scheme. For the first time, such a large scale online settlement has been done at the board level. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the efforts of the board in a program organized on Sunday and said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the workers. He directed the Labor Department to ensure quick resolution of the problems of the workers, as well as to establish better coordination between industries and workers. The Chief Minister said that when there is better coordination between industry and labour, employment opportunities will be available continuously and solution of small problems will be possible immediately. He also praised the excellent progress made on the Labour Cess Management Portal and e-Shram Portal of the Labour Department. The Chief Minister said that the technology based transparent system will not only provide timely benefits to the workers but will also strengthen the functioning of the department. During the program, officials of the Labour Department including Geeta Rawat, Deputy Labour Commissioner Madhu Negi Chauhan, Vipin Kumar, Umesh Chandra Rai, KK Gupta were present. At the same time, Sumit Goyal, Ishan Sharma and Rohit Thapliyal also attended the program on behalf of HDFC Bank.
Special campaign conducted
Labor Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki informed that this disposal was ensured by running a special campaign in the last one month. He assured that in future also, timely resolution of applications related to workers will be done with a campaign based approach, so that eligible workers can avail the benefits on time.
