From this session Garhwali is being taught as a local language under the foundation course for MBBS students from this session at Sri Gururam Rai University.

According to the standards of the Medical Council of India, this system has been implemented in the first semester of MBBS course from this session.

MBBS students are also learning Garhwali with great interest. With the efforts of Chancellor Shri Mahant Devendras Maharaj, the degree courses of Garhwali Boli have been started at the BA and MA levels from this session.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) US Rawat says that every effort is being made to allow SGRR University to emerge as the center of excellence in the Garhwali language. The possibility of a career in Garhwali language has increased with the compulsory teaching of local language in MBBS course.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anil Mehta says that according to the instructions of the Medical Council of India, the local language is being taught to the students. It is intended that future doctors can better understand their problems by better communicating with the regional patients.
