38th National Games: Sports villages to be formed in Dehradun-Haldwani, 15 sports and 34 competitions to be held


There will be one sports village each in Dehradun and Haldwani for the National Games. There will be a provision of eight thousand players and officials in the sports village of Dehradun, while there will be arrangements for four thousand players and officials in the sports village of Haldwani.

This information was given in the meeting held for the 38th National Games held at Maharana Pratap Sports College Raipur under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The Chief Minister said that all preparations for the upcoming National Games to be held in Uttarakhand should be completed within the stipulated time.

All preparations for the proposed games in November 2021 should be completed by October 2020. He said that reports should be given to the proposals sent for seeking financial assistance from the Center for organizing the Games. There should be coordination with sports experts and sports bodies for the work being done for national sports.

The Chief Minister said that the event is a matter related to the reputation of the state. It was informed in the meeting that 34 competitions in National Games will be held in Dehradun, Haldwani, Haridwar, Gularbhoj, Rishikesh, Nainital and Rudrapur for 14 days.
15 games will be organized in Dehradun and eight in Haldwani. Sports Minister Arvind Pandey, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, Youth Welfare Council Vice President Jitendra Rawat Moni, Principal Secretary Manisha Panwar, Secretary Amit Negi, Shailesh Bagoli, Brijesh Sant etc. were present on the occasion.
