The youngest girl Priyanka Negi will now take over the command of the Chief Minister’s model village Sarkot village in Karnaprayag Gairsain development block. 21 years and 3 months old Priyanka Negi has been elected for the post of Pradhan. She won by defeating her rival Priyanka Devi. Priyanka got 421 votes and Priyanka Devi got 235 votes. Earlier, from 2014-19, her father has also been elected to the post of Pradhan. Priyanka Negi has graduated in Political Science from Gairsain College.
Currently more than 300 families reside in Chief Minister’s Model Village Sarkot, one of the largest villages in Chamoli district. Due to no migration in the village, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had declared Sarkot village as an ideal village during the assembly session in Bhararisain. Since then CM Dhami is serious about Sarkot village. Many development works are being done in the village on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Many development works are being done in the village like painting the same color in every house, mushroom production, health camps, animal husbandry, agriculture. Also, awareness camps are organized in the village from time to time by the officials.
The newly elected Gram Pradhan of the village, Priyanka Negi said that she will work to take forward all the development works being done by the Chief Minister. Her priority will be to make the women of her village aware so that they can move forward in every field. Priyanka Negi’s father, former Pradhan Raje Singh Negi said that he will support his daughter in every possible way for the development of the village.
