118 crores gift to Uttarakhand in Namami Gange project, in-principle approval given to six schemes

In the executive committee meeting of National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) held on Wednesday, in-principle approval was given to six schemes costing Rs 118 crore in the state under the Namami Gange project.
Earlier in May and July this year, NMCG had approved Rs 68 crore for seven schemes of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for giving approval to these schemes. has done.
In the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Mission held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Director General of NMCG, Ashok Kumar, the proposals of six schemes sent by Uttarakhand for the Namami Gange project were discussed.
After this, in view of the control of water pollution in the Ganges river and to develop public facilities on the banks, in-principle approval was given for these schemes. Among these schemes, a plan of 90.90 crores for waste water management in Muniki Reti, Dhalwala, Swargashram and Neelkanth under Rishikesh area is the main.
Under this, works related to the establishment of four sewerage treatment plants of 12.80 MLD capacity, sewer lines and sewage pumping stations will be done in these areas. Apart from this, works will be done for the construction of protective works, electric vehicle tracks, toilets and shops in Badrinath Dham under River Front Development at a cost of 27.18 crores.
Udayraj Singh, Additional Secretary and Program Director of Namami Gange Project in the state, virtually associated with the meeting of the Mission Executive Committee, confirmed the approval of these plans. He said that work on all the schemes would be started soon.
